Introducing 'BOBBLY BRUN' ... the most colourfully adorable cloche ever made

E k k k k k k s ... how could i not make the most . ridiculously. gorgeous . Nogginware for the 1st batch of 2018 +   ..... my BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!

Now have a good read about 'BOBBLY BRUN' over at the New Online Shop, as i did quite the spectacular write up there (must have had a good sleep + the perfect coffee me thinks!)

NB //   Unfortunately .... i only had enough o this gorgeous bobbly goodness from dear Abel's Coat to make 4 JEANIE JONES cloches, however my model Miss Beth was not leaving the photoshoot without one (thanking you lovely supportive Beth) ... so this batch is a very LIMITED EDITION only 3 now!

So as Nogginware was getting snatched up quick fast last year ... seriously set. your. alarm. and.  drop . everything!!!!

New year - x - New beginnings

The Less is more approach.

Well I have to say last year got a little outta hand, true as they say … the less time you have in life … the bigger + busier your reality becomes and my business was moving in a direction that I truly had been wishing for.  In 2017 I had the mindset that I wanted to wholesale to 3 boutiques + do only 2 Christmas shows, as that would totally be manageable for my lifestyle of being CEO to 3 little humans (as they really, they are my main form of employment), so as the year evolved + unraveled those desired daydreams … ended up falling into place quite organically.... however,  the kicker that I hadn’t planned on was … how busy all of those avenues put together would become!  The monthly feature Nogginware drops were selling out fast, other random orders were coming in + I was getting texts from la retailers saying …. We need more, more more.  ONLY problem is … slow fashion is hard to produce … quickly.

Now I’d be lying if I said I was keeping it all together in an #instaperfect way.  I wasn’t sleeping great, the kiddo’s were driving me nuts, because I was driving them nuts + for a lot o it, and our whole family (like everybodies) seemed to be stuck in a vicious cycle o sickness/germs/cooties …. but on the other hand,  I was feeling ecstaticly exhausted that this tiny business was getting places!  Enter the now, its my favourite time o year ... a fresh new beginning called the NEW YEAR.  I took me some time over the Christmas break and just really unplugged from everything, put my hardcore thinking cap on to try + figure out how to change things for the better in 2018….. and I came up with quite the A grade gooder’s!

The biggest being … the LESS is MORE approach!

Social Media … well I have a love/hate with the sport, so I will be in fact spending less time hanging out on our insti/FB + more time … well ….LIVING!  Perhaps it could be Social Media “algorithm” suicide, but I’m going to do a little experiment for a year + only post positively topnotch stuff instead of daily fluffy fillers, that quite frankly are a full time job in itself (Did I mention I really love sewing!).  So make sure to turn your notifications ON for sparkyjoneshats , and be sure to sign up for our Mailing List, as that’s where we’ll be focusing our lovely energies + attention + scrumptious news.  Like I’m meaning sign the hell up RIGHT NOW!!!

Secondly, this place is about to become a whole lot more COLOURFULLY WONDERFUL.  I’ll be taking my love o colour, sewing + life (including my little people) in some new whiz bang directions, but it could just take a little more o my time + efforts to make Sparky Jones that little more delicious, but hey … extra yummy is worth a touch o patience in my books.

And lastly, this tiny team is slowly growing, thank my lucky stars some lovely souls have entered my life who unbeknownst in the beginning, are as anally retentive + particular as moi.  Enter happy dance like a rockstar with shiny glittery shoes, as now i’ll be able to grow this quality handmade Noggin topper dream with some awesome HELP, extra love + sanity in my back pocket – Ya Ya Yipty!!!

So just as a recap … this topnotch tiny Nogginware biz is about to get a whole lot more fanfuckingtabulous by focusing on less + achieving WAY MUCH more with a side of COLOURFUL ... how ?… well sista ... you gots to stay tuned + sign up to get on our Mailing List, yes this is like the final reminder to get on the. 'GINGER MINOUX' - x - October's cozy feature character

Oh October you have been a hard month, on all fronts.  Not only that, i'm totally a sun summer kinda lover, so the fact that we are heading into cold, blah + cloudy season has me teetering on bluesy.  Thats when I knew I needed to create a character that was so gorgeously uplifting, so fun, bright + bold to chase away all those negativities.  The perfect friend to make me just want to roll around in Autumns leaf fall like a kid and just . be . all .  happy about getting cozy.  

My Daughter Bea + I have been reading my childhood stories, especially ones by Dick Bruna, i just love his illustrations, colour use + simple lines, such a fantabulous source of inspiration ... and to also remind me that things/life when simplified can just be as beautiful.  So after reading 'The Fish' for the 100th time + each time thinking about how the little girls outfit is absolutely to die for.... the idea for 'GINGER MINOUX' was born.  So down in the Studio I scurried , pulling out all my warm woolly fabrics trying to find the 'same as Susans outfit' colour, when there it was ... Ava's vintage woolly fabric.  Moons ago i had made a Jemima Jones clutch from her fabric + there was enough to make a small batch of 'The Fish' inspired Tom Pom caps. Perfect-O-mondo!  But something just felt like it was missing.  Designing, creating, frenzy + VOILA .... little flannel lined ear flaps that looked like Dick Bruna illustrations! 

'GINGER MINOUX' is a tiny batch of Limited Edition, of 6 only + forever.

She comes with that fancy new feature that we have now incorporated into our Nogginware process - topstitched crown panels for added strength, durability + well, a topnotch snazzy look.

Now, this little character is available in 3 adorably unique options ::

- Straight up // sans Pom
- Fur de Faux Pom
- Wooly Alpaca Pom

each option gives a totally unique look to the Nogginware, I myself have decided to go with a 'Straight Up' version, just because i think she's going to look pretty adorbs in the snowy months

Lining :: 
- Not Knitted but Knitted 100% cotton flannel in yummy coconut + chocolate.  And a specially designed inner band for a comfy fit, which is made from a Canadian Organic cotton jersey in a delectable deep brown.

TurnAround Time :: 3 weeks

Not sure if you've heard, but we are sorta downsizing per say + just focusing on only ONE amazing signature Nogginware character each month (well with some random goods here + there, like pouches + ummmmm very nice OOAK things!)  Why?  well life was getting a bit too chaotic with all my little peoples + then when I had time to create the perfect Nogginware ...it always seemed to be in the wrong size for the most wanting peeps, or just a wee bit the wrong colour or yada yada.  So the Change happened back in September, starting with 'WOODLAND'.  Now we decide on the bestest seasonal style for that month, then choose yummy top notch quality vintage/reclaimed or organic fabrics + just make a small batch of semi customized quality goods ... ones that you get to choose your very own size + toppings (i.e. trimming colours, buttons, pompoms etc) that way everybodies life is a big bowl of simplified  H A P P I N E S S!
